The Holidays are here, which means it’s office decorating season! Like many companies we are a blend of many different cultures, so we like to TRY to strike a balance. Holiday décor creates an atmosphere of celebration for many of our clients and team members.
Here are some Holiday office traditions and ideas from our interior designers:
1. Commercial office holiday decor should reflect the festive holiday season. Use white wintery décor, with a hint of color. Decorations with a wintery feel are always a nice touch.
2. Use colors that represent joy and happiness. Colors that are vibrant, fun blue, silver, white with touches of muted green apple green and a smidge of red for tradition.
3. Use items that lift your team or client’s spirit (i.e. Holiday music). It changes the work environment to a more festive atmosphere to reflect the season.
4. Tinsel, glitter, blinking lights and Christmas music on a loop are typically NOT appropriate in an office space.
5. Bows, ribbons, wreaths and a few fresh potted poinsettias around the office are all tasteful ways to create a festive display in the workspace. Almost any color of decorations will work well in most offices – including company colors mixed with metallic touches.
6. Put together company activities like team lunch or breakfast. You can even incorporate a good old fashion game of “White Elephant”. It’s so much fun and a great way to enjoy your coworkers in a different atmosphere.
7. A Holiday party is always a fun way to create team bonding either in or out of the office. Holiday décor is always more fun when the company does it together.
