Recognizing birthdays is essential to Hughes Turner Phillips. As a way for our employees to feel valued and appreciated in the office, we decided to create an office questionnaire to celebrate each employee’s birthday.

1. How long have you been at HTP? I have been with HTP since Joe, Matt and I started the company in 2013. The three of us have worked together for 20 years.
2. How has the company changed since you’ve been here? I believe the culture of HTP has evolved since we started the company. Since we spend more time at work than we do off work, we want each individual on the team to feel appreciated. We have learned that communication, flexibility and a bit of humor all help to create a positive, creative and productive working atmosphere.
3. Do people have a nickname for you at work? If the team has a nickname for me, they have not shared it with me – thank goodness!
4. What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work? I call my hobbies the three R’s: Running, Reading and Relaxing.
5. What does a day in the life of Susan look like on your birthday? My birthday is the day after my wedding anniversary and usually falls near Mother’s Day, so this week is always full of celebration which usually involves FOOD!
